Safety Strategy

Issue

1995 saw United Construction's Managing Director, Sam Castell, identify a need to raise the safety awareness of their mid and senior management. United Construction was about to enter into partnering agreements with some major mining companies within Western Australia and needed to ensure a good safety culture.

Solution

Ringshaw Consulting liaised with the United Construction Management and Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator to scope out the project.

The solution was to obtain ownership of the safety processes by all United Construction personnel.

In conjunction with United Construction, Neil Ringshaw designed a training program with specific outcomes focussing on Incident Management.

A series of facilitated awareness raising sessions and brainstorming workshops were conducted by Ringshaw Consulting.

This resulted in the mid/senior management providing the input for the safety strategy to be implemented, maintained and managed by United Constructions.
